Music & Music Education
... Because Music is More than the Instrument
Music & More, Inc. is an independent musical instrument sales, rental, repair and music education company located in the Lower Cape Fear Region of North Carolina. Our company was founded in 1994 by Richard V. Purcell, a longtime music teacher and professional musician. Richard has a real passion for music and education, and he brings more than 30 years of experience to our students, customers and community education partners.
At Music & More, we focus on the instrumental and educational needs of beginning and advanced music students in public and private school-based band and orchestra programs. The instruments we offer for band and orchestra study -- brass, woodwind, percussion and orchestral strings -- are band-director recommended and educator-approved. Naturally, instruments must meet our own rigorous standards, too. To explore the brands and music accessories we trust, click here.
Moreover, Music & More is also a member of the Veritas Instrument Rental Affiliate Network, a nationally recognized school music resource. Veritas and its members are known for offering quality options and value to students and parents and for the commitment members make to educators, students and music education.
In addition to students in school, we equally serve independent music students, as well as professional musicians who perform across the Carolinas. At Music & More, we also offer private music lessons and group instruction, and we're considering master classes for intermediate and advanced students in 2008-2009. (Help us decide!) Group classes and private studies are taught in our fully equipped rehearsal and instruction studio in Wilmington, NC. Our Service Philosophy Sows our Business Practice Our philosophy is simple. Essentially, we connect students and performers to the instrument and service that makes the best sense for them, and we support their musical studies and experience note by note. If you find we don't offer the stock carried by the big store music guys, then we have a reason for that. To us 'less is more' because we always stand behind our products and our priority remains on unparalleled, personal service. Committed to Educational Excellence
Music really is more than a business product; it's a process that makes meaning in the musical experience. And we want to enjoy and learn from your musical experiences as much as you do.
In a nutshell, we're a friendly, fun, full-service company that doesn't want to grow too much, because your education and musical experience are central to the passion that brings harmony to the business of music. We'd prefer not to talk about our commitment to music education, we'd rather be doing it. It's the cornerstone of our service to student and school families, to musicians, performing patrons and the community. We know that educational excellence makes a melody in the hum of how we live, learn and grow.
On that note, we're committed to share our knowledge. Likewise, we welcome your comments, suggestions, musical experiences and educational anecdotes. Learn from our educational resources ... feel free to distribute and contribute, too.
