... Notable Resources for Music Students, Parents, Performing Musicians and Educators

As a music education provider and music instrument company, we realize that musicians and music students need a range of resources to advance in the study and performance of music. That said, our focus extends to sharing quality resources with our customers, band and orchestra students, our schools, patrons and supporters. We sure hope you'll share the resources you deem valuable with us -- let us know!

Feel free to check out the local and online resources that make our maestro sing. There's a plethora of educational resources below, for students and parents, and for professional performers and educators too.

However, our list is neither holistic nor an endorsement. We suggest because we've found the information viable. Do know that we don't control the recommended websites or their content, and unless we state our relationship, we're probably not affiliated with the groups or information.

We think we should tell you that anyway.

What we do and will endorse is the research that shows just how tasty and delicious music really is -- music  education is brainfood! It's healthy, too.

We'd also like to share the basic guidelines of what makes a Music Education program, in accordance with the official National Standards. It's a good basic measure, but don't take our word for it. You can read it for yourself and put your own music education or music program to the test.

National Standards for Music Education

1. Singing, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music.
2. Performing on instruments, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music.
3. Improvising melodies, variations, and accompaniments.
4. Composing and arranging music within specified guidelines.
5. Reading and notating music.
6. Listening to, analyzing, and describing music.
7. Evaluating music and music performances.
8. Understanding relationships between music, the other arts, and disciplines outside the arts.
